Koru Praxis is an independent consultancy working at the intersection of ecology, land use, livelihoods, and operations. It supports projects that need more than broad sustainability language — projects that must make sense technically, economically, and in context. The focus is on helping clients map the factors shaping a project or idea, make more grounded and more decisive choices, and strengthen both project design and project delivery.
Koru Praxis is based in Portugal and works internationally on a selective basis. It is particularly suited to projects that need a thoughtful outside perspective while staying firmly connected to field conditions and real-world constraints.
Why Koru Praxis exists
Koru Praxis was created from a simple observation: many land-based projects carry strong intentions, but struggle to connect ambition with context, technical logic, and day-to-day reality. Some are new and still taking shape. Others are already running, but need review, adjustment, or stronger internal coherence. Koru Praxis exists to support both.
The name
The name Koru Praxis brings together two ideas. “Koru” evokes growth, renewal, and living systems. “Praxis” points to action, application, and knowledge tested in reality. Together, they reflect a way of working that does not separate vision from practice, or regeneration from implementation.
The founder
Koru Praxis was founded by Floris Vervaeke, whose work is rooted in the belief that meaningful change starts close to the ground. With field experience across Africa and Europe, Floris works at the intersection of regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, rural enterprise, and value chain development. Through Koru Praxis, he aims to build both a consultancy and a collaborative platform: a place where clients, land-based initiatives, and dedicated experts can find each other, work together, and transform complex ideas into grounded, viable action for a more hopeful future.
